The Story

I started in hospitality in 1987 as a security officer at a hotel in Lagos. Over the next 38 years, I worked my way through almost every part of the business — event management in Lagos and Jos, then HR and Admin in Ilorin, rising to HR/Admin Manager and finally serving as Deputy General Manager (Admin) for 2 years before I resigned.

Along the way, I also consulted for a handful of hotels — helping them fix their staffing, tighten their operations, and train their teams. That's when I saw the real problem: hotels and restaurants in Nigeria struggle to find reliable, vetted staff. Not because good people aren't out there — but because most recruiters don't know the industry from the inside.

In 2020, I started HospitalityRecruit to fix that. Since then, I've placed over 100 people — chefs, cooks, waiters, housekeepers, receptionists, and hotel managers — with hotels and restaurants across Osogbo and Ilorin.

Moved into HR/Admin in Ilorin. Rose from HR/Admin Officer to HR/Admin Manager.

Served as Deputy General Manager (Admin) with 38 years in Nigerian hospitality, Ilorin, for 2 years. Oversaw staff, operations, and administration. Also began consulting for select hotels on staffing and operations.
